A Woman’s bra can be her best secret weapon or biggest fashion faux-pas. Lingerie companies are constantly working to combine classic fits and technology to formulate a chic, nearly foolproof design that (when worn appropriately) brings a female bust very close to perfection. However, even the very best underwire or most heavenly padded style will falter under certain garments. Looking your best in bras depends mostly on knowing your measurements and choosing the fits that work best with your warm-weather clothes.
Made to Measure – Determining Bra Size
Self-measurement for bras can be a bit tricky, but not at all impossible. Studies show that as much as 95 percent of Women are wearing the wrong bra size! If you prefer to order lingerie online in the privacy of home, it is necessary to adopt these simple steps in order to get the most out of that pricey name brand bra design
Calculating Band Size
An accurate bra band measurement is essential to determining your correct cup size (see below). Use a tape measure horizontally around torso, directly underneath breasts. With arms down, measure your torso/bust size in inches. Round up a size; for example, a measurement of 35 inches calls for a bra size of 36.
It is not necessary to add more than two inches to your bust measurement. If you measure an even number like 32, you may find size 32 bras to be your best fit. It is a method of trial and error, so make sure your lingerie is returnable.. just in case.
Your New Cup Size
One of the easiest ways to figure out a new cup size is to take note of
your previous one. If a 34C feels too tight, chances are you will be comfortable in a smaller band and larger cup size — in this case, a 32D. Buying a larger bra typically requires the wearer to go down a band size and up at least one cup size. That’s easy enough, right?
What Bras to Wear, When
For T-Shirts Let’s face it: That gorgeous lacy contraption is ideal for the boudoir, not the brunch table. A too-bulky bra creates an awkward texture underneath lightweight fabrics. Save the elaborate silk and deep sexy colors for later; opt for a neutral-colored, seamless style for underneath your white t-shirt.
Halter Tops Get into a convertible bra that offers a low back andadjustable straps that won’t cause any horrid neck strain. This is where a little padding comes in handy; up the drama for a vampy look!
Strapless Dresses Molded-cup underwire bras are not always the best design to wear strap-free. Bandeau styles offer comfy stretch bands at the top and bottom, eliminating a possible “fallout” and giving superior nipple coverage.
