Dita Von Teese to Design Burlesque Lingerie Line

Hollywood’s fetishistic diva recently announced plans for an exciting lingerie line inspired by her signature burlesque lingerie fashions.

Dita Von Teese received her very first bra — a plain white cotton design — from her mother.  Disappointed, she started her dancing and modeling career wearing elaborate lace corsets and gloves.  Dita’s intensely gorgeous, vintage-style getups helped catapult her into the limelight of media’s mainstream stars.  Hollywood’s fetishistic diva recently announced via Twitter that plans are in the works for an exciting lingerie line inspired by her signature getups.   Elaborate corsets and glamorous lingerie fashions are regularly worn by Dita for her International burlesque shows and renowned photography shoots, many of which she styled herself.

Ms. Von Teese is collaborating with Australian company Lime Door Brands to produce the sexy underpinnings, which are set to debut at upscale UK stores in 2012.  She has poignantly stated that her line will be produced in a broad range of sizes from extra small up to bra cup size E.  The performer reassures consumers that it does not take an 18-to-21 inch waist (Dita’s rumored measurements) to wear sexy lingerie.

“I am especially excited to be designing lingerie with a vast sizing range so that women of all shapes and sizes can have a beautif sensual, lingerie wardrobe.” she explained.

Australian company Lime Door plans to introduce Dita-ized gowns after the lingerie kicks off.

The lingerie line of Dita Von Teese will most likely include palettes of daring color, satin, lace and of course unbeatable corsets.  Dita’s costumes have included many looks inspired by retro pinup girl Betty Paige and a large number of elaborate fetish gear.  Boasting a fantasy-grade figure (possibly a result of such frequent corset wear) the critically acclaimed “Queen of Burlesque” has frequently been photographed for industry magazines, Playboy and also appeared on the cover of the Midori’s guide The Seductive Art of Japanese Bondage. In her mainstream career, the fashionable Dita favors deep-colored, elaborate gowns from A-list designers Vivienne Westwood (who designed Dita’s shimmery purple wedding gown in 2005) and Dior.
